Next time you sit down to stream a movie from Netflix/buy a moving from iTunes/rent a movie from Blockbuster you need to choose "Ink". It's the best Indie film I've ever seen and the most downloaded torrent in a period of one week.
Briefly, "Ink" is a sci-fi, fantasy thriller about 8 year old Emma and her father, John. Emma is snatched up by a lost soul, Ink, who is stuck in the in-between of life, dreams, death, and nightmares. To the awake world, Emma lies in a comatose state, but in the in-between Emma is shackled to Ink on her way to meet "the Assembly". Her father, John, awake throughout the movie, finds himself in a nightmare he can't seem to wake up from. "Ink" is a story of good and evil, right and wrong, and guilt and forgiveness. It's a dark but whimsical tale that tells a story even after the credits roll.
Being a low-budget film the quality isn't that of more expensive movies but the hazy, dream-like attribute is perfect for this story. The musical aspect fits beautifully and even becomes inspiring. The unique characters, good and evil, are unforgetabble. I also liked the simple, almost universal language this was told in. There were simple, unique terms used for the "job positions" of each character or group (pathfinder, story tellers, incubi).
There were a few things I didn't like about this movie, like the use of some props seemed too specific. The movie was too short to go over what these were exactly and why they were used. There were even close-ups of these props in use, as if they were important to the story later, yet were never mentioned or explained again.
Overall, I give this movie a 4.75 out of 5 stars and I usually hate sci-fi.
Side-note: It's 107 minutes long and there were no "famous" actors/actresses. The film-makers found that the rapid illegal sharing of this movie was the sole cause of it's popularity and DVD/Blu-ray sales.
Jacob the Pathfinder
Below is my favorite scene from this movie. It's of my favorite character, Jacob the Pathfinder, attempting to "stop the flow" that happens when a person leads a life of guilt. I've also included the "Ink" trailer, which includes a look at the haunting Incubi.
Alright, well I recently took some tests and got the results back: I've got gonorrhea. Not really, these are psychological and personality test results. To take the test yourself, click the links I've provided.
Type Six The Loyalist
The committed, security-oriented type. Sixes are reliable, hard-working, responsible, and trustworthy. Excellent "troubleshooters," they foresee problems and foster cooperation, but can also become defensive, evasive, and anxious—running on stress while complaining about it. They can be cautious and indecisive, but also reactive, defiant and rebellious. They typically have problems with self-doubt and suspicion. At their Best: internally stable and self-reliant, courageously championing themselves and others.
This sounds pretty reliable (running on stress while complaining about it...problems with self-doubt and suspicion).
ISFJ - "Conservator". Desires to be of service and to minister to individual needs - very loyal. 13.8% of total population.
Usually I get ISFJ or ISFP...depending on where I am in my life. I guess right now I'm in a loyal, conservator place which makes sense.
Brain Lateralization Test Results
Right Brain (38%) The right hemisphere is the visual, figurative, artistic, and intuitive side of the brain. Left Brain (52%) The left hemisphere is the logical, articulate, assertive, and practical side of the brain
I disagree strongly with this. I'm not logical, articulate, or assertive. I can be practical but for the most part I need visuals, figurative examples, and have good ideas but have a hard time explaining them. I'm good at making things up but I have trouble paying attention to detail. I'm a right brain who likes her space and her space clean.

This test says Brandon and I are 72% complementary but as good of a score that is, I think it's inaccurate because he didn't have to be involved in answer. It was all my opinion. If he were to take it and answer questions about me we could have entirely different scores. Maybe I'll ask him to take it and see what he gets.
"1. Spectrophobia: Fear of ghosts (Boo!)
It’s true that some people truly believe in ghosts and some don’t so this is certainly up to your interpretation. However, with the help of Hollywood with movies such as the Poltergeist movie series, the perception of ghost, whether you believe in them or not, is highly magnified; not only on the big screen, but to the public. Movies certainly help to let our imaginations go to new heights when it comes to creepy things such as ghosts.
Most people that have spectrophobia (the fear of ghosts) realize that this is an irrational fear and that there’s truly nothing to be afraid of. These people may be afraid to be in old, empty houses, dark places, or quiet woods, especially at night; even though the logical side of them says that nothing will happen.
2. Ambulothanatophobia: Fear of zombies Ambulothanatophobia is fear of the walking dead, or zombies. It’s a long name for something so irrational, but if you break it down, it makes sense. Ambulo is Latin for “walking”, thanato is Latin for “death”, and of course phobia means “fear”.
This is a genuine fear in which it can be argued that Hollywood is somewhat responsible for with movies such as the Resident Evil movies and Dawn of the Dead. Though most people realize that zombies aren’t real, individuals with this fear let their imaginations get the best of them.
3. Demonophobia (also called Daemonophobia): Fear of demons
Demons are said to be evil spiritual beings. Now, again we might run into an issue where some people think that demons are real while others feel that it’s nonsense. Either is fine, but individuals with this fear take the fear to the extreme and often realize that it’s irrational. Like people with spectrophobia (mentioned above), people suffering from demonophobia would most likely be afraid to go into an old, dark house, or be alone in the woods."
I know not that many people read my blog but instead of going on a rampage I'd rather publicly review Charter Communications.
They are from the devil. Only the devil would charge me $60 for basic cable and internet. And only the devil would bully me over the phone and make me out to be a liar. You see, I chose Charter two months ago for the $29.99 deal that includes basic cable and internet. Over the past two months they've sent my bill on a roller coaster ride ranging from $56 to $63 for the same damn services. Then they cut off my access to downloading because I downloaded one episode of Weeds.
One good thing about Charter, however, is that every time I call to complain they DON'T send me to India. Don't get me wrong, I like Indians. Outsource all you want. Those people need the jobs too. But I don't like being sent to India to complain because I feel like an obese, smelly American complaining to a person who probably can't afford cable or high speed internet.
I'd rather to complain to Yolanda, a real American telemarketer, who I had the pleasure of speaking with today. I didn't feel like a jerk telling her the company she works for is a rip off. She barely listened to me and was a bully. In the end, I told Yolanda I'd keep Charter until I found a better, less Satanic company, but I'd be back with a vengeance.
I've changed my opinion on "Sister Wives" slightly, after watching the first episode in greater depth. I still despise this yucky Kody fellow, but I really love the wives. Even though it's easy to pass judgment on these women and say they are unhappy people with low self esteem, I like them. They are open minded even saying that they don't care what religious and marital decisions their kids make as long as they get an education of some sort and become productive members of society. I wasn't expecting to hear that from Mormon fundamentalists. It seems like these women love each other more than they love the man they share. I wouldn't mind being a part of a 3 woman marriage (sans men) where we'd live and raise our kids. However, I have no warmed up to the newest wife who has tacked herself onto the right end of this group hug.
Now that I have my amendment out of the way, I will write about what I came here to write about. And that is that I hate pimples and the hormones that conjure them. They are the same hormones that are making me feel like I need to kidnap newborns cause they are soooooooooooooo cute. They may also be the hormones responsible for bookmarking "puppy adoptions in my area". Damn it hormones, stay off of Google.
So, it's Sunday night right now and this new show "Sister Wives" is on. Basically, it's about a family that consists of 1 husband (Kody), 3 wives (Sister Wives)- Meri, Janelle, and Christine), and 12 (almost 13) children. After 16 years of 3 wives, Kody has decided he wants another wife, Robyn who has 3 kids. I'm trying to keep an open mind and think polygamy might be right for this family but it's not for me. But honestly, I don't think it's right for this family or any other family. After seeing three episodes of this show I think these women are lying to themselves about how they're okay and supportive of this. They are used to the three wives..and now a fourth is coming in and they all seem to have problems with it yet say "But it's the right thing." I don't get why it's the right thing or why Kody is so special that he gets to sleep with three different women? I have trouble not seeing this dude as a creep. That being said, the friendship these three ladies have is really special. It's a deeper friendship and love than blood related sisters....because they're all canoodling the same dude every week. It makes me wonder if married orgies are against Mormanism? Things could get real kinky in Utah. It reminds me of Hugh Hefner and his mansion of Bunnies. Except for this is Creepy Kody and his suburban home of house wives.
Anyway, everything revolves around this creepy Kody fellow. He deservesanother wife. They're giving him more children. Gross, I hate men. I could never live like that. I get all hopped up when other girls comment on Brandon's Facebook. If he asked to move to Utah and take on another wife, he'd have to get penis reconstruction surgery because I'd cut it off with a dull knife while he slept.
